Lawns & Mowing
We go above and beyond your typical lawn mowing service.
Using our specialist machinery we can safely mow steep slopes, saturated ground, and even slash through gorse and light scrub.
We can also aeravate the ground for better water management and healthier grass, great for sports fields and flood prone properties.
LIFESTYLE & COMMERCIAL MOWING
We offer contract or one-off mowing on lifestyle properties and commercial sites. Examples include: creating fire breaks, paddock topping for livestock, and pest control mowing on food manufacturing sites in line with MPI standards.
GroundsCARE is Safety-approved to work for Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi on major projects.
STEEP HILLS, BANKS & SLOPES
We are Northland's all-terrain mowing company for steep, hilly slopes and banks where normal mowers can’t, and shouldn't, go. Our Ventrac mower safely mows to 30 degrees (really steep), the steepest mower slope ratings in NZ.
EXTRA-LONG GRASS & WEEDS
We tackle very long Kikuyu, stalky weeds, shrubs and light gorse. We have different mowing decks for tough stuff, fine lawns and levelling thick, long grass. We mow paddocks, overgrown sections and maintain roadsides.
SCHOOLS & SPORTS GROUNDS
We pride ourselves on punctuality and schedules and we can also do special events. We can also mow around the buildings saving caretakers precious time.
Steep, sloping viewing banks are a specialty of our Ventrac mowing machines.
Wildfires happen. Even green grass and shrubs can fuel an out of control fire. Regularly cutting the long grass reduces this fuel, and reduces the risk of wildfires. Mowing grass around your buildings and property is an important safety investment.

LAWN PREPARATION & SMOOTHING
We operate a very specialised range of ground conditioning all-terrain machinery for the best lawn preparation. It grinds, loosens, shapes and smooths the ground for grass seeding. The Power Rake grinds and shapes the hard ground to smooth, the Landscape Rake moves soil around and sifts debris away and the Aeravator opens and fractures the ground to better aid seed growth.
AERAVATION & LAWN HEALTH
We improve poor grass health by loosening compacted sports fields and lawns with our Aeravator. Aeravation uses vibrating spikes to fracture the ground, opening narrow holes to let rain and oxygen in. The roots expand for improved grass health and resilience in dry seasons, and better drainage in the wet.
